IUI Treatment :- Solution to Male Infertility

Intrauterine Insemination Procedure is a successful treatment for childless couples. It facilitates the fertilization by placing sperm into the woman’s uterus. IUI predominantly goals to increase the sperms to reach the uterus thus increases the fertility chances. It is less expensive and less invasive when compare to IVF (In vitro fertilization). 

When to go for IUI ?

IUI is used for sperms with decreased mobility, cervical problems, cervical scars from the past surgeries that hinder the entry of sperms to the uterus, unexplained infertility, and ejaculation dysfunction. IUI is not recommended to the patients’ who have fallopian problems, pelvic infections, and endometriosis.

IUI Procedure:

Before incepting IUI, ovarian stimulating medicines are used to determine when the eggs are getting matured. IUI is carried out during the time of ovulation, generally about 24-36 hours after the flow of LH hormone that indicates the ovulation occurrence. A semen sample is collected, washed in the lab and separated from the seminal fluid. Using a soft catheter the sperm is inserted into the uterus. During the process number of sperm is inserted. Thus it increases the fertility chances. With a minimal discomfort the IUI procedure is done within few minutes and soon after IUI, the patient has been watched out for the signs and symptoms of pregnancy.

IUI Risks

Due to the fertility medication during the IUI causes multiple pregnancies and a risk of infection is also experienced by some patients after getting performed with intrauterine insemination. The IUI success rates depend on the female age, the reason for infertility, sperm condition etc.
